2400 Pinehurst Dr, Greenacres, FL 33413, United States
This trail is a fun, tight singletrack with berms, drops, and log piles thrown in. Riders will pass through woods of of pine, palmetto, and melaleuca with sharp turns and root sections. Dont worry, there are plenty of bypasses! The Pinehurst MTB Trail is an excellent trail for sharpening technical skills. Bordered by canals on two sides, there is plenty of tree cover so the sun / heat is not an issue.
Pinehurst is in a convenient location to many residential communities and the turnpike. Many riders find this to be a great place for a quick morning or after-work ride.
Its not a long trail but so what , just do it again! And again! It is challenging enough to never get bored. Its a good, quick workout packed into 4 miles. There are three, relatively new sections of trail that are among the most challenging sections on the entire trail. Lightening/Thunder, Truck Stop and Firebreaker. Start with Lightening and move through the other two sections. But be aware, there are no directional signs pointing to Lightening so keep an eye out for just the sign "Lightening" to your right. If you do these sections, along with the other black diamond sections, the trail is 5.5 miles long. All the bypasses make it a great trail to bring riders of all skill levels. This is an equally good trail to bring the family or seasoned riders.
There is no parking at the actual trailhead, but there are two parks nearby that have parking, restrooms, water, and pavilions - Okeeheelee Park and Greenacres Freedom Park.
