7301 Haverhill Rd, West Palm Beach, FL 33412, United States
A hill in South Florida? It's too good to be true! Situated on 55 ft. of elevation, the trail is approximately 2.5 miles long. Ascending and descending many times as it goes around the hill, this trail has banked turns built from shell rock graciously donated by the Palm Beach County.
Dyer Hill is entirely singletrack made up of crushed rock that is one to two feet wide while the rest of the landfill is covered with grass. There are some small trees that provide some shade, but most of the ride is exposed to the sun. Be aware of trail erosion after heavy rains.
Want a warm-up before taking on this intermediate trail? Check out the Dyer perimeter trail, which loops around the park.
The Dyer Perimeter Trail accommodates all levels of riders. The trail surface is mostly crushed rock, but the way is mostly smooth, so beginners won't have any problems. The Perimeter Trail has several miles of twisty singletrack trails in the woods that loop around the park. While more shaded than Dyer Hill, riders will still want to bring plenty of water, especially if riding in the Florida heat.
This trail is great on its own, and can also be used as a warm-up before heading over to Dyer Hill for a little bit of elevation.
